Process Engineer – Upstream/Downstream- Tullamore

An exciting new opportunity for an experienced Process Engineer – Upstream/Downstream to join one of the world’s most advanced biopharma companies operating at the cutting edge of life science technology delivering quality veterinary vaccines and medicines complemented by a diverse range of diagnostic products and genetic tests

The Role

  • As a leader within the process team you will be involved in front-end design through to installation liaising closely with on-site C&Q teams to ensure they manage full validation processes effectively.
  • This is a challenging position and will require flexibility and creative approaches to problem solving.
  • Reporting into the Associate Director of Process & Validation Engineering.
  • This position sits within a new team of process and validation engineers.
  • Working closely within this group and liaising with multi-disciplinary teams on-site to deliver this project
  • Taking ownership of the front-end design of upstream and downstream manufacturing process
    Once established focus will shift to process optimisation and ensuring the most efficient ways of working are in place
  • Challenging the design as required and managing the delivery of external suppliers into the project maintaining integrity of design and regulatory requirements throughout
  • Supporting the resolution of deviations; running investigations across equipment and process non-conformances, system failures and under-performance ensuring root cause analysis is completed, a solution is delivered, and corrective actions are implemented across systems and equipment
  • Collaborating closely with external manufacturing partners and affiliates within network where required
  • Working closely with cross functional teams to deliver engineering projects – quality, supply-chain, manufacturing etc
  • Supporting the resolution of production issues from a process perspective

The Person

  • All applications must have a degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment leading a team operationally or within a project
  • The right person will have experience within a highly regulated GMP manufacturing operation – bio-tech or chemical sectors
  • A strong communicator with the ability to work well within a cross-functional team to achieve a common objective
  • Flexible approach to work and a positive attitude will be a good fit with the team dynamic
  • Be collaborative in your approach to work and be an effective communicator
  • Engage cross functionally to deliver on process improvement projects in conjunction with a site-based team
  • Autonomous and a self-starter who will use their initiative to drive actions forward
