Senior Construction Manager

Due to several recent Project Awards, Asset Recruitment are actively recruiting for a highly experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our client, a prestigious EPCM Design and Build Engineering Consultancy currently engaged on many of the largest Biopharmaceutical construction projects across Ireland and continental Europe.


The Senior Construction Manager is assigned to a project as the most senior member of the clients Construction Team with responsibility for the proper and timely construction of the project in accordance with detailed design, control estimate and specific requirements of contract, all in accordance with the client’s SOP’s, WI’s, standards etc.

The Construction Manager also provides the primary link between the client and EPCM during the construction phase of the project.


  • Discharges client’s contractual responsibilities for site construction of project safely, efficiently, within budget and to quality standards required.
  • Carries out ‘Constructability Reviews’ and Interactive planning sessions with Client and Design Team.
  • Ensures site construction phase and turnover phase of a project is provided with suitably capable, qualified and experienced personnel, together with all necessary plant, tools, temporary facilities and other resources.
  • Develops a best-in-class site enabling plan to support a positive culture from the outset of the project.
  • Complies with the client’s construction methods, procedures, and practices in all respects, particularly those relating to QA, safety, personnel and industrial relations; where these are found to be inadequate immediately reports deficiencies and suggests solutions.
  • Understands implications of Health and Safety at Work Act and Regulations as they affect responsibilities of employees, site visitors, client etc.
  • Keeps abreast of developments in construction industry and assists in ensuring that the clients capability continues to develop and excel.
  • Ensures project is constructed to drawings, specifications, applicable standards, good construction practices, to schedule and in accordance with cost budget.
  • Directs and controls activities of assigned staff and functions to comply with cost budget requirement.
  • Carries out assessments and appraisals of staff and records the results in accordance with clients’ practice.
  • Determines needs for staff training for execution of project under construction
  • Properly Adheres to clients policies for employment of labour and ensures all labour relations are dealt with in accordance with the labour agreements.
  • Prepares and submits at prescribed dates required reports on QA, Quality Control, progress and costs.
  • Coordinates and negotiates with Client’s representatives on construction matters relative to contract.


  • Managing construction and engineering teams from client and sub-contractors to work together to complete project safely, within schedule and budget.
  • Supervise and manage all site staff including construction superintendents, trade supervisors and sub-contractors
  • Daily meetings with client representatives and subcontractors

Education/ Experience

  • Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical
  • Significant years’ experience in a similar role
  • Biotech / AMT- Lifesciences Process knowledge
  • Excellent multi-disciplinary knowledge, communication and People management skills.
