Senior Reliability and Maintenance Engineer

Looking for an exciting new career opportunity in Medical Device Manufacturing?

Our client is a leading Medical Device Multinational operating at the cutting edge of life sciences technology. Due to continued expansion, we are currently interviewing for an experienced Senior Reliability and Maintenance Engineer to join the team. In this exciting position, the Senior Reliability and Maintenance Engineer will lead teams of Shift Technicians and provide engineering support across a high volume, fully automated manufacturing environment and be responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of key production equipment.

Duties

  • Lead Shift technical team across Assembly Process, managing and prioritizing daily technical performance.
  • Work closely with Senior Process Engineer to improve Preventative Maintenance Program to reduce breakdowns and improve efficiency by analysing breakdown and reliability trends across Process.
  • Work closely with Senior Process Engineer and Operations and Maintenance teams to identify and drive improvements to existing equipment and processes.
  • Manage execution of and ensure compliance of a comprehensive Preventative and Corrective Maintenance Program, ensuring all documents are audit ready.
  • Work with direct reports to carry out risk assessments, behavioural based audits, close out near miss action items on a regular basis.
  • Manage Quality CAPA and improvement projects as required.
  • Collaborate with Operations Engineering team to own and resolve EHS, Quality and Technical issues.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives as appropriate – Kaizen, Lean, LDMS, Blitzes.
  • Work with immediate manager to review machine spares and ensure that necessary spares and stock levels are set up in stores.
  • Identify training and development needs of Shift Technician team and coordinate with Shift and Process Engineers to prepare and execute a comprehensive plan.

Educational / Experience Requirements

  • Engineering Electrical, Mechanical or Production Engineering Degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in a Reliability and Maintenance Engineering with 2+ years management experience.
  • Preferences will be given to candidates with Six Sigma Green or Black Belt qualifications.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, Vision Systems, High Speed Assembly and Packaging operation would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience in use of Six Sigma statistical techniques would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity working in a regulated environment (Pharmaceutical/Medical Device/ Semiconductor etc).
  • Experience in applying a scientific approach to problem solving, blending analytical and experimental skills to maximize productivity and yields.
  • Able to work and communicate in a cross functional environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
