ELECTRICAL PROCESS DESIGN ENGINEERS- ( Remote Work- Based across South America)
OPPORTUNITY
Asset Recruitment are actively recruiting for these exciting new Electrical Process Design Engineering opportunities for our client a prestigious EPCM Design and Build Engineering consultancy engaged on many of the largest Pharmaceutical and Semiconductor construction projects across the US, EMEA and APAC regions today.
Successful applicants’ candidates will be based across South America region (per countries listed above) to align with US engineering project time zone alignment and will work remotely on Process Design related projects based in the US.
Ideal candidates will be self-motivated individuals with strong communication skills with a strong command of English preferred ideally.
Applicants will exhibit a passion and desire to apply their technical experience and knowledge in a team environment on technically challenging and professionally rewarding contract assignments
PURPOSE
The primary purpose of this post is to assist the Engineering Design team in achieving objectives of our client with respect to Mechanical Process Design for large scale Tool Install Projects for Semiconductor and/or Pharmaceutical, Life Science Project Consultancy engagements
The successful candidate will report functionally to the Mechanical/Process Department Manager and on occasion to assigned Project Managers.
DUTIES
Creation and modification of specifications, drawings, datasheets and schedules to support Electrical Process Engineering Design activities described below:
Specification, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of LV Switchgear, Motor Control Centres, VSDs, Transformers, UPS Systems, Fire Alarm Systems
LV Power system design.
Electrical design required to support Pharmaceutical, Semi-Conductor, Fine Chemical, Brewing, Food Dairy and other Advanced Technology Manufacturing facilities
Executing projects in a multi-discipline environment
Power systems & equipment, short circuit calculations & analysis, co-ordination / discrimination studies.
Design of Process Electrical facilities to IS, EN and IEC standards including Power, Lighting, Cabling, Cable Containment Systems, Cat 6 Structured Wiring, Fire Alarm, Earthing, Lightning Protection etc.
REQUIREMENTS
Degree Electrical, Instrumentation & Control Engineering (Level 8)
Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer Status
Pharmaceutical, Semi-Conductor, Fine Chemical, Brewing, Food Dairy and other Advanced Technology Projects Design Experience
Min 5-10 years’ experience in the delivery of Electrical Engineering Design to meet budget, schedule
FATs & SATs experience
Good communication skills
Familiar with and experienced in the application of Electrical design codes and standards (UK/EU/US or International).
Experienced in the development of Electrical Process Design documentation.
Capable of performing detailed calculations such as cable sizing, voltage drop, breaker selection/setting, co-ordination studies and containment sizing.
Drafting 2D schematic and equipment plan drawings.
Updating Electrical Database (Amtech/EasyPower).
Adherence to project schedule.
Review of design guides and specification.
Co-ordinating with sub-contractor resolve RFIs and answering submittals.
Fully proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to work to deadlines, under pressure and on own initiative.
Highly Desirable (not essential)
Previous Semiconductor Tool Install Design experience
Expertise and Proficiency in use of BIM / REVIT
CIBSE / IEI / IET Membership at any grade

Excellent Contract (USD) Hourly Rates Available – Depending on Experience
