CSA Construction Lead
Reporting to Client Construction Manager
Role
The CSA Construction Lead is assigned to projects as a senior member of the Construction Team with responsibility for proper and timely construction of CSA Scope in accordance with Clients Safety and Quality standards, detailed design, control estimate, contract, SOP’s, WI’s, standards etc.
Pre-Construction duties.
Detailed review and liaison with design and client workgroup leads model reviews.
Prepare and lead constructability reviews across every facet of the build.
Prepare detailed SOWs for trade contract procurement.
Assist in preparation of detailed BOQs.
Review returned CSA bids and prepared TBA.
Trade and industry knowledge reviews, keeping abreast of developments in the construction industry.
Development of detailed execution strategies.
Input into CHSP, QA/TO and all other General Construction Requirement documentation.
Assist in schedule development, schedule reviews and lead IAPs.
The CSA Construction Lead will also provide input for the development of the CSA construction department which will include improving execution procedures, liaising with the CSA Design department leads, and managing and developing CSA construction resources across the project.
Duties
Ensure that the construction phase of the projects is adequately provided with suitably capable, qualified and experienced personnel, together with all the necessary plant, tools, temporary facilities and other resources.
Sub Contract management inc. Safety, Schedule, Cost and Quality shall be your main deliverable .
Develops best in class site execution SOPs as guidance to the Field Supervisors
Complies with the Clients construction methods, procedures, and practices in all respects, particularly those relating to safety, quality assurance, personnel and industrial relations; where these are found to be inadequate immediately reports the deficiencies and suggests solutions.
Ensures applicable statutory and other legal requirements are properly observed.
Understands implications of Health and Safety at Work Act and Regulations.
Keeps abreast of developments in construction industry and assists in ensuring that the Clients capability continues to develop and excel.
Determines needs for supervisor training for proper execution of project under construction and makes recommendations accordingly.
Ensures projects are constructed to drawings, specifications, applicable standards, good construction practices, to schedule and in accordance with cost budget.
Directs and controls the activities of assigned staff and their functions.
Carries out assessments and appraisals of the staff and reports the results in accordance with Client’s practice.
Ensure Clients are utilising best technology available and ensuring innovative ideas are encouraged.
Ensuring lessons learned on projects are recorded and shared.
Adheres to Clients policies for employment of labour and ensures all matters concerning labour relations are dealt with in accordance with the labour agreements.
Supervises and manages all Site CSA Staff including construction superintendents, trade supervisors and sub-contractors.
Qualifications
Biotech / Pharma knowledge.
Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Significant years’ experience in a similar role
Excellent multi-disciplinary knowledge
Excellent communication skills
People management skills
