Engineering Technician

Our client is a leading pharmaceutical company committed to quality, innovation, and regulatory excellence.

Role Overview:

The Engineering Technician is responsible for delivering technical support to ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of Drug Product, API, and Packaging equipment in a high-containment Oncology facility, operating in compliance with HPRA and FDA standards.

This is a 6-month contract role, with a 16/5 shift schedule and a shift premium.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensure API, Blending, Capsule Filling, Primary and Secondary Packaging equipment, as well as vision, serialization and high containment systems are set up and maintained to appropriate standards.
• Actively promote lean maintenance best practices within a continuous improvement environment.
• Support in developing and improving new and existing maintenance routines within a cGMP environment.
• Proactively follow up on re-occurring technical issues.
• Execute planned and unplanned maintenance on production and utilities equipment.
• Execute calibration of equipment as required.
• Use of the computerized maintenance management system to record in detail maintenance activities on equipment/utilities in compliance with regulatory & cGMP requirements.
• Execution of work orders and calibrations as scheduled through the computerized maintenance management system.
• Daily reporting of maintenance activities at shift meetings, ensuring issues and open items / concerns are communicated in a timely and concise manner.
• Be a part of Safety and Environmental training programs and initiatives.
• Actively participate fully in any cross-functional training initiatives and mentor operations personnel.
• Available to respond to ‘call out’ as per a pre-defined Rota if required.

Requirements:

• Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (degree or apprenticeship).
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, including at least 3 years in maintenance within a pharmaceutical environment.
• SAP CMMS experience is an advantage.
