Project Design Manager
Asset Recruitment is recruiting a Project Design Manager for a contract position, on behalf of our client, a leading pharmaceutical company based in Tipperary.
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the Design team for the project, along with the Engineering partner. Managing prioritisation and on-time delivery of design deliverables to meet the construction schedule. In addition, you will help coordinate activities in the suite team to support the design activities, workshops etc. This includes design delivery and documentation, qualification efforts.
Work location: Cork – at their design partner’s office.
Responsibilities
• Lead the Project Design team from client side (note: engineering by External EP).
• Ensure EP are prioritising and delivering on scope per construction schedule needs, escalating issues where necessary.
• Monitor project progress and performance.
• Monitor and challenge accuracy of information supporting KPI’s
• Partner with EP, CM & CQ and other disciplines on the planning and execution of scope.
• Provide status reports to Core team and Project Management.
• Lead, in collaboration with EP, CM and partners the cost, risks, change management and schedule effort for design team.
• Ensure all work along with the technical lead is managed in accordance with the company’s procedures and best practices.
• Resolve cross functional issues across the suite teams or issues impacting the design team.
• Monitor the performance of the Design team (cost, effort, scope, etc.) against the project management plan and performance baseline.
• Ensure lessons learned, changes and impact of changes are captured by all project leads for the project.
• Interface with other disciplines & stakeholders to ensure the project meets business needs.
Requirements
• Design Manager for large capital projects managing EP teams on design, in the past (>€200M).
• A Degree in Engineering discipline is essential
• Experience of scope, cost, and schedule management
• Experience of Pharma projects (€200m +)
• API project experience is an advantage
• Project Management Certification is an advantage
