Health & Safety Advisor
We are currently looking for an experienced, side-based Health & Safety Advisor / Operative, supporting a large residential construction project in Co. Meath. The role involves ensuring compliance with Irish health and safety legislation while fostering a strong and proactive safety culture across a busy site environment with over 40 operatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day health & safety operations on active construction sites
• Ensure compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work legislation and all
relevant regulations
• Assist the implementation of duties in line with PSDP/PSCS requirements
• Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions when required
• Collaborate with site management, subcontractors, and external stakeholders
• Track and monitor safety performance across on sites with over 40 operatives
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training
• Maintain and update safety documentation, including method statements and risk
assessments (RAMS)
• Engage with Health and Safety Authority (HSA) requirements and best practices
Requirements:
• 5–10 years’ experience in a site-based Health & Safety role within construction
• Experience managing safety on sites with 40+ operatives
• Strong experience on large-scale residential schemes
• Strong knowledge of Irish H&S legislation and construction regulations
• IOSH Safety, Health & Environment qualification or equivalent essential
• Relevant Irish Safepass / CSCS card or equivalent
• Proactive mindset with the ability to promote a positive safety culture
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
Desirable:
• Experience working under PSDP/PSCS frameworks
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent is highly desirable
• Experience with main contractors or large residential developers
• Strong reporting and documentation capabilities
